INTRODUCTION AND DEDICATION

This website is devoted to remembering Michael Zaslow's years on "One Life to Live" as  the mysterious, romantic, and charismatic pianist-conductor/spy, David Renaldi, and the story of David and Jenny, the love of his life portrayed by Brynn Thayer.

To provide a bit of background on David and Jenny's love story, here is an account written in 1991 by a huge fan of Michael Zaslow who was thoroughly enjoying his delicious performances as Roger Thorpe at the time.  She describes how she first "discovered" Michael:

"It was his David Renaldi on "One Life To Live"  that I saw and fell in love with first.  You'd have loved him as David.  He was less complex than Roger  (but then so is most of humanity) but still a man of mystery.  He was also a spy ...but David was a spy for the other side, which haunted him. He was a terribly romantic figure, a concert pianist -- God he was gorgeous playing that piano! David had a past involving a lot of women, but on the show he was basically involved in one of those endless thwarted great loves with a woman named Jenny, played by Brynn Thayer.  They were very, very sexy together.  Jenny was an ex-nun and had been married once or twice before she met David, but when he came on the show she became a sex maniac <g> ... actually, it wasn't raunchy, exploitive stuff, just very loving and passionate ... that great love that makes a man vulnerable and sometimes heroic."

"... Michael as David, well, you gotta love him.  It's almost like he was cast as a truly reformed version of Roger, or rather as Roger's good alter-ego.  There are some similarities -- anger, violence-in-check, complex personality and (of course) that ol' sexuality thing -- but David seems far closer to Michael's personality than anything else he's played, especially in terms of political orientation and indelible sweetness, not to mention musicality ...  Brynn Thayer's rapport with Michael was perfect.   To me, the chemistry between this couple stemmed from the actors' real affection for each other, demonstrated in part by the way they constantly touched and stroked each other, even in idle, semi-off-camera moments, and in the way they made each other giggle. As for their sexual quotient, all I can say is that their scenes -- especially the first time they made love -- were very erotic and some of the hottest stuff I've seen before or since ... "

This website is dedicated to my friend Pam, who made it possible by sharing David and Jenny's story, and to Michael and Brynn, who made the happy times easier to remember.
